Police and emergency services responded to a house fire in Monbulk this morning (1 January).
The fire started at the property on Monbulk-Olinda Road just after 4am.
Sadly, a male's body has been located inside the home.
At this stage, the identity of the deceased has not been confirmed.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing.
