Evade police and serious assault in Geebung, QLD

Police have charged a 45-year-old Geebung man following an incident in Geebung yesterday, Queensland Police say.

Police will allege at around 4.30pm they attempted intercept a vehicle in relation to an illegal U-turn at the intersection of Pritchard and Virginia Roads.

The driver allegedly refused to stop and continued to drive dangerously, resulting in a multiple vehicle crash on Bilsen Road a short time later.

The driver was allegedly arrested at the scene of the crash, however, the man damaged the police vehicle and lashed out violently at the officers cutting one officer’s finger, causing wounds to a second officer’s arm and kicking another officer in the jaw.

The man has been charged with one count of wilful damage, three counts of serious assault police whilst adversely affected and one count of possession of a dangerous drug. He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
