Event management scholarships awarded to those in regional NSW

Destination NSW will fund seven Diploma of Event Management scholarships to help upskill and create more job opportunities for those living in regional NSW.

The scholarship program, which is part of the NSW Government's partnership with Meetings & Events Australia (MEA), will provide the seven recipients with a valuable opportunity to develop critical skills in event management while paving the way for activities that will attract more visitors to regional areas of NSW.

The Diploma of Event Management is designed to support people who are already working in the events industry, which is dynamic and cyclical, and offers participants the flexibility to study around work commitments.

The program was first introduced in 2018 as part of the NSW Government's $43 million investment in programs aimed at growing the NSW visitor economy. Since then, Destination NSW has partnered with MEA to engage 63 professionals in the SIT50316 Diploma of Event Management.

The 2023 MEA scholarship program recipients are:

  • Ali Briggs
  • Izabella Apolloni
  • Peta Lehoczky
  • Rebecca Dunning
  • Camilla Palamo
  • Jade Medderman
  • Jake Hall
