Sculptures created by acclaimed ceramic artist Sassy Park will be on display at the Shoalhaven Regional Gallery in Nowra from this weekend.
Ms Park, who is a finalist in this year's Wynne Prize with her sculpture Chen, won last year's prestigious Meroogal Women's Art Prize.
Her Fragile World exhibition opens at the gallery on Saturday 26 July and brings together ceramic figurative sculptures, artist prints made on residency in Paris and watercolours.
"Sassy Park's sculptures are both playful and profound. Each piece invites us to reconsider the ordinary through a lens of curiosity, wit, and wonder," said Gallery Director, Zanny Begg.
"We are delighted to showcase this wonderful collection in the Shoalhaven and I encourage the community to visit the gallery during July and August to explore her work," Ms Begg said.
She studied painting at Sydney College of the Arts and at the Berlin University of the Arts, as well as undertaking a Masters in Ceramics at National Art School in 2018.
She was the recipient of the 2022 Onslow Storrier studio residency at La Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris and recently undertook the Keramikkünstlerhaus Scholarship in Neumünster, Germany.
Her work is represented in national public collections including the Powerhouse Museum, Bathurst Regional Gallery, Manly Art Gallery and Museum, and the Art Gallery of Ballarat.
