Fatal road collision in Flynn

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a fatal collision in Flynn this morning.

Officers were told a man stopped his car on the Princes Highway, near the intersection of Rights Lane, to assist a motorist with a flat tyre.

An approaching car has struck the man, while he was standing on the roadway beside his car about 8.20am.

Sadly, the 55-year-old Rosedale man, died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 23-year-old Rosedale man, stopped immediately and is assisting police with their enquiries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing.

Traffic diversions remain in place for west bound traffic.
