Fatal shooting in Earlwood

Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Earlwood tonight, NSW Police say.

About 9.40pm today police were called Larkhall Avenue following reports of a possible shooting.

On arrival officers located a man on the footpath suffering gun-shot wounds.

He was unable to be revived.

A crime scene has been established in Larkhall Avenue while further investigations are carried out by detectives from Ashfield Local Area Command together with detectives from the State Crime Commands Homicide Squad.

Meanwhile, emergency services were called to a vehicle fire at Goddard Park, Concord about 10.15pm.

The fire was extinguished by NSW Fire & Rescue crews and a crime scene has now been established.

Police believe the vehicle, an Audi Q7, may have been involved in the shooting at Earlwood.

Early investigations suggest this was a targeted shooting.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
