The appointments build on Cardiff University's success in securing representation on the Research and Diversity Advisory Panel (Dr Cosimo Inserra) and Main Panel C (Professor Rick Delbridge, Chair of Sub-Panel 18: Business and Management Studies; Jenny Hulin, Main Panel Advisor; and Professor Chris Taylor, Deputy Chair of Sub-Panel 23: Education).
Professor Dave Cowan from the School of Law and Politics said: "It is an absolute privilege to have been appointed to this role. I am looking forward to appreciating the depth and strength of the range of work in law."
Professor Ann Heilmann from the School of English, Communication and Philosophy added: "I am delighted to have been appointed to REF 2029 Main Panel D as an expert on People, Culture and Environment.
"Having served twice on sub-panel 27 (English), I am looking forward to gaining broader insights into REF processes from the Main Panel perspective. In advising on PCE matters it will be helpful to draw on my previous experience as co-chair of PCE pilot sub-panel 28 (History).
"Given the UK-wide pressures on HE that weigh so disproportionately on Main Panel D disciplines, it will be an honour to be able to contribute to the work of the Arts and Humanities panel."
