Footpath construction: Hovea Street, Templestowe

Manningham Council

Connecting our community through safe footpaths is one of the ways we're building a better Manningham.

As part of our 2023/24 Capital Works Program, we're building a new footpath connection on both sides of Hovea Street, Templestowe, to improve accessibility and safety.

Where is it?

We're building a new footpath on both sides of Hovea Street, between Hakea Street and Glendale Avenue in Templestowe.

When will the works happen?

Works will begin on Tuesday 6 February 2024. Weather permitting, we expect the project to take six weeks to complete.

Why is the footpath needed?

Without a footpath, the rough terrain beside the road makes walking difficult. This new footpath will create a safe, accessible all-weather connection for pedestrians.

By building a footpath, we aim to connect residents and the wider community with the local area. This will include Yarra Valley Preschool, facilities at Templestowe Village, and nearby bus stops.

How will the works affect me?

During the works, you may notice construction noise and reduced on-street parking while our machinery and workers are in the area. We'll provide detour signage and traffic management to guide you around the works.

We may be required to reconstruct property driveways to ensure a smooth path. If your property is affected, we will contact you directly.

We'll do our best to minimise any disruptions caused by construction. We thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to improve footpath connections in your area.
