Former officer charged - Southern Region

A former police officer has been charged following an alleged assault on the South Coast in 2019.

The 45-year-old former senior constable, who was attached to a command in the Southern Region, was issued with a Court Attendance Notice today (Thursday 25 February 2021), for two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Police will allege in court that the former officer, who was on-duty at the time, assaulted a 21-year-old man during an arrest at Sanctuary Point on Friday 11 January 2019.

He is due to appear in Nowra Local Court on Monday 26 April 2021.

The officer left the NSW Police Force in 2020.
