Further charges: Weapons offences, Morningside

Police have made a further two arrests following their investigations into the alleged discharge of a firearm in the carpark of a premises at Morningside in July this year.

At approximately 4.30pm on July 20, police were called to a carpark at the intersection of Redfern Street and Wynnum Road after members of the public reported a man allegedly with a firearm.

Police cordoned off the area taking a man into custody around 5.12pm.

A search of the man's utility parked at the location allegedly located a large machete and handgun as well as illegal drugs including cocaine, GBL and methylamphetamine.

A 27-year-old man from Carindale was charged with one count each of dangerous conduct with a weapon, stealing, possession of a knife in a public place, possess dangerous goods, unlawful possession of weapons and stealing, possessing relevant substances along with two counts each of receiving tainted property and possessing a dangerous drug.

He appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court on July 21.

On July 23, detectives arrested and charged a 24-year-old Hawthorne woman with dangerous conduct with a weapon and possess dangerous goods.

She appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on July 24.

On July 29, detectives also arrested and charged a 29-year-old Redland Bay man with dangerous conduct with a weapon, possess dangerous goods, possess explosives, fraud and two counts each of assault occasioning bodily harm whilst in company.

He appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on July 31.

No one was physically injured in the incident.
