Griffith Pioneer Park Museum is on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to help in various areas to keep our local history alive.
Griffith Pioneer Park Museum Manager, Jenny O'Donnell said she was particularly keen to hear from individuals who can assist in areas such as, front desk, machinery, mechanical, gardening, cooking, sewing, carpentry, cleaning, history research and restorations.
"Volunteering at the Museum is flexible and a unique opportunity to join a fun, active group of friendly people who enjoy getting together and maintaining this treasure trove of Griffith's heritage", Mrs O'Donnell said.
"If you have skills you'd like to contribute, we'd love to hear from you. We look forward to welcoming you to our volunteer family.
"Our dedicated team of volunteers plays a crucial role in preserving and showcasing the rich history of our community."
Volunteer opportunities:
- Front desk: Greet visitors and provide information about the Museum
- Machinery: Assist in the maintenance and operation of historical machinery
- Mechanical: Use your mechanical skills to help restore and maintain museum exhibits
- Gardening: Keep the Museum grounds beautiful and welcoming
- Cooking: Prepare meals and refreshments for special events and visitors
- Sewing: Help with costume repair and creation for Museum displays
- Carpentry: Assist with construction and restoration projects within the museum
- Cleaning: Ensure the Museum remains clean and presentable
- History research: Dive into historical research to help enhance our exhibits
- Restorations: Work on restoring artifacts and exhibits to their former glory.
