Help Shape Future Of Events In East Gippsland

East Gippsland knows how to come together. From packed foreshore festivals and classic boat rallies on the Gippsland Lakes, the East Gippsland Winter Festival series, to your local community markets or fundraiser - events are woven into the fabric of life across the shire. They draw visitors, keep locals connected, and give businesses a reason to throw open their doors.

East Gippsland Shire Council is developing an Events Action Plan which will provide a clear, strategic approach to planning, supporting and growing events across the region, and they want to hear from the people who make it happen.

Whether you're an organiser, trader, volunteer, visitor or everyday community member who loves to attend events, your input will help make the next four years of events bigger, better and more connected than ever.

The plan considers events of all sizes, including small community-led events and local initiatives.

How to get involved

In-person Summit Days will be held this Thursday 4 June in Lakes Entrance and Friday 5 June in Bairnsdale, with sessions tailored for food, beverage and accommodation businesses; retail, venues and traders; event organisers, arts, culture and sporting clubs; and a general session open to all. Morning, afternoon and evening timeslots are available across both days.

Full details, registration links, and the online survey are available on the Council website.

The survey takes just a few minutes for community members, and a little longer for businesses and organisers. This engagement stage is designed to inform and shape the plan.
