The medical programme and the Bachelor's programme in biomedicine had the fourth and fifth highest first-choice admission points this autumn, according to the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR).
The UHR list shows the 20 programmes in Sweden with the highest merit points of the last admitted student (i.e. the student who was admitted with the lowest grades) in the BI (non-supplemented upper-secondary grades) group.

"Both programmes have been popular and in much demand for many years, but this year, interest reached a new peak," says Jonas Sundbäck , deputy director of studies for the Bachelor's programme in biomedicine. "It's fantastic to see just how much interest there is in the biomedicine programme! The merit points have been high for several years now, but this year it reached a new level. It's hard to say exactly why this is, but our students are looking for a highly-reputed international environment, and it's possible that, given the state of the world, KI's study programmes have become even more attractive."
The medical programme has long held a top spot as regards application-to-place ratio and merit points, and the programme directorate keeps a continual focus on maintaining its quality.

"It's fantastic that the programme continues to be so popular!" says Marie Dahlin , director of the study programme in medicine. "KI's high international ranking and appealing location attract lots of students, and we work tirelessly to keep the quality high with a talented faculty and to keep close contact with our students."
