Institute for Computational and Data Sciences Now Open for Seed Grant Proposals

Pennsylvania State University

Penn State's Institute for Computational and Data Sciences (ICDS) is accepting proposals for its 2024 seed grant program. ICDS seed grants are designed to foster innovative data science and high performance computing-enabled research. Awards encourage research groups to get projects off the ground, which are then developed into competitive proposals for major external funding. Penn State faculty from any campus or college can submit applications now through March 29.

ICDS will consider any interdisciplinary research project proposal with a computational or data science emphasis, but the focus of this year's competition is on five thematic priorities:

  • Quantum computing
  • AI or computational modeling
  • Virtual or augmented reality
  • Industrial applications of AI
  • Sustainable computing
