The investigation into the deaths of a 36-year-old Compton woman, her 23-month-old daughter and her missing 3-month-old son is continuing today (29 July) following the tragic incident off Port MacDonnell on Monday 27 July.
At this time, there is no information to suggest that any person other than the mother and her two children were involved in this heartbreaking incident.
A coronial investigation will examine the cause and circumstances surrounding the deaths. Based on the evidence currently available, the matter is being investigated as a murder-suicide, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Comprehensive physical search efforts have focused on a sizeable area of water and land, unfortunately the infant has not been found.
A decision will be made later today (29 July) regarding the continuation of physical search operations. Any decision will be informed by the available evidence and the likelihood of locating the infant. Regardless of that decision, the coronial investigation will continue, along with ongoing shoreline monitoring.
