Joyce calls for ripping up Basin plan because it 'favours' Adelaide

Australian Conservatives Release

In today's The Australian, Barnaby Joyce has called for ripping up the Murray-Darling Basin Plan because it 'favours' Adelaide.

The Conservative Party's South Australian Senate candidate Rikki Lambert says, "Barnaby Joyce can get nicked. The states and commonwealth have made a commitment and now need to stick to it".

"What we do need is a federal royal commission into the shenanigans that have happened upstream particularly NSW - such as the excusing or covering up of water diversion under the NSW Nationals' watch - and how China can own so much of our river water," Mr Lambert said.

The recently released water register does not give the breakdown within the Murray-Darling Basin but given the following, Chinese communist ownership's rapid rise under his nose should leave Barnaby red faced:-

(A) China owning the most water allocations, at 1.9% nationwide, almost double the next largest, UK,

(B) over 20% foreign ownership in the northern Basin (i.e. the Darling, particularly in NSW),

(C) Cubbie Station in the NSW upper reaches is controlled by China.

To protect South Australia's water, vote "1" Conservatives in the Senate.
