Members from Geelong Highway Patrol and Warun Ponds caught a high range drink driver in Lara this morning.
Officers intercepted a Toyota ute in McClelland Avenue about 5.35am.
The driver, a 27-year-old man from Little River, underwent a preliminary breath test and accompanied police to the station for an evidentiary test.
He returned an alleged reading of 0.266%.
His licence was immediately suspended for 12 months and he is expected to be summonsed to appear at a Magistrates Court at a later date for traffic related offences.
The driver was also found to be in breach of the directions issued by the Chief Health Officer and is expected to be issued penalty notice.
