Lethbridge Park stealing and assault, three men face court, NSW

Police have charged two people following investigations into a number of incidents that took place at Lethbridge Park yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 6.30pm today, police were called to a service station on Luxford Road following reports of theft.

It’s alleged a 20-year-old man entered the service station and approached the counter where he asked the attendant for a packet of cigarettes.

It’s alleged he threatened the attendant and said he had a knife. The attendant remained behind the counter and didn’t hand over any property.

The 20-year-old was leaving the premises as a 66-year-old woman approached the counter to pay for fuel. It’s alleged the man stole the woman’s money and left the store.

Moments later, it’s alleged a 23-year-old man entered the same store and grabbed a number of packets of chips and also ran from the scene.

Police were called and an investigation was commenced.

While conducting inquiries at the service station police were called to a unit on Luxford Road, Lethbridge Park, regarding an assault.

As officers arrived on scene they were confronted by a number of people outside the unit block prompting them to call for further assistance.

Two men, aged 20 and 23 were arrested for the offences that had occurred earlier at the service station.

They were taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where the 20-year-old was charged with demand money with menace with intent to steal, and steak from person. The 23-year-old was charged with stealing.

Both men were refused bail and will appear in Mt Druitt Local Court tomorrow.

A 20-year-old man was also arrested and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he was charged with an outstanding warrant. He was refused bail and will also appear in Mt Druitt Local Court today.

Officers located a 19-year-old woman inside the Luxford Road unit suffering facial injuries. She was taken to Blacktown Hospital for treatment.

Inquiries into the assault continue.

A police vehicle from Mt Druitt Local Area Command was involved in single vehicle collision on Chestnut Crescent, Bidwell while en route to Luxford Road.

Fortunately the two officers in the vehicle were not hurt.
