The Victorian Liberals and Nationals are taking our positive plan for Victoria's future to every corner of the state as our team today launches Jess Wilson's Fresh Start Tour.
Over the coming five weeks, Leader of the Opposition, Jess Wilson, along with local Liberal and Nationals team members, will visit every one of Victoria's 88 Legislative Assembly districts to meet directly with Victorians and discuss our positive plan for our state's future.
We will be meeting with local families, small business owners, community leaders, health workers, teachers, police, volunteers, farmers, tradies, multicultural groups and local organisations.
Jess Wilson's Fresh Start Tour will be launched today in Premier Jacinta Allan's electorate of Bendigo East and will focus on the Liberals and Nationals' comprehensive plan, including:
- Our 10-Year Economic Plan, which includes several tax reductions, making Victoria the best place to do business, an Essential Services Guarantee, and clear pathway to start to reduce debt and return the budget to a cash surplus by 2032.
- Our Safer Communities Plan, which includes recruiting 3,000 new police officers, reopening more than 40 closed police stations, hiring 200 new PSOs and returning them to every metropolitan train station and implementing genuine Adult Crime, Adult Time laws and a tough new one-strike bail rule for serious offences.
- Our Housing Affordability and Housing Choice Plan, which includes fast-tracking housing approvals in growth areas, expanding the capital city zone, lifting the stamp duty exemption for first home buyers to $1 million and restoring the voice of residents in local planning decisions.
- Our Plan to clean up Crime and Corruption, which includes a Royal Commission into CFMEU misconduct, follow-the-money powers for our anti-corruption commission, banning bikies from major projects and establishing a new construction sector watchdog.
The Liberals and Nationals have a plan for all of Victoria - not just the parts of Victoria Labor remembers at election time.
Leader of the Opposition, Jess Wilson, said: "Victoria needs a fresh start, and my team has a plan to deliver it.
"Victoria is too big and too diverse to be run from Spring Street alone. Every community deserves to be heard, whether it is in Mildura, Maffra, Portland, Pakenham, Werribee, Wodonga, Warrnambool, Box Hill, Bendigo, Ballarat, Berwick or Broadmeadows.
"Over the next five weeks, my team and I will visit all 88 lower house districts to speak directly to Victorians about how a Liberal and Nationals Government will return hope and prosperity to our state.
"Victoria isn't working under Labor - because Labor isn't working for Victorians.
"We have a plan to reduce crime, lower costs and give Victoria a government that works."
