Library Open Day Invites Community To Connect

City of Canada Bay Libraries is taking part in the statewide Library Open Day on Thursday, 30 July, inviting the local community to discover the free programs, services and resources available at their local libraries.

Visitors can drop in to Five Dock Library, Concord Library and The Learning Space at The Connection, Rhodes, to attend a program of activities including Preschool Storytime, a Board Games Group and a self-led Open Maker Workshop.

Mayor Michael Megna said the City's libraries play an important role in bringing people together and supporting lifelong learning.

"Our libraries are welcoming, accessible places where people can learn, create and connect," he said.

"Whether you're borrowing a book, learning a new skill, using creative technology or looking for a quiet place to study, there's something for everyone."

"Open Day on 30 July is a great opportunity to meet the staff, attend an activity, and see what's on offer at no cost to the community. If you can't make it on the day, library programs and services run throughout the year," Mayor Megna said.

Five Dock and Concord Libraries will stay open longer on the day, until 9pm. The Learning Space will close at its usual time of 9pm.

City of Canada Bay Libraries provide free access to books, eBooks, audiobooks, movies, music, magazines and newspapers, as well as study areas, activities, services and creative programs for all ages. Residents can join in person or online to start accessing these resources.
