Local Artist Frankie O's Vibrant Collection Showcased at New Living Arts Space

Swoop is a new exhibition at the Living Arts Space celebrating a vibrant collection of works from local artist Frankie O.

The artist has created multiscale paintings and embellished bold prints, rhythmic linework and mixed media texture inspired by her surroundings.

Living Arts Space Curator Amy Carr-Bottomley said the artist's work was well recognised in Bendigo.

"Frankie O is a Bendigo-based artist whose art practice began from her desire to capture the inspirational places around her," Ms Carr-Bottomley said.

"Frankie O's work is as diverse as the materials she uses, ranging from acrylic paint, gold leaf, water colour, mixed media, collage and digital drawing which are tied together by a love of audacious bold colours and energetic linework.

"Her energetic depictions of local landmarks and wildlife are embraced by residents and visitors alike.

"This is a stunning free exhibition to immerse yourself in the animated world of Frankie O, a truly eye-catching adventure.

"During the exhibition, Frankie O will be presenting a live painting and collage-making segment in the Living Arts Space every Saturday from 10.30am to 11.30am.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to see how different works evolve during the two hour process with insights from the artist on the approach, techniques and use of colour."

A series of workshops suitable for adults and children are also taking place in March and April. Workshop participants will take home their fully completed artwork.
