Kiama Council

Kiama Council urges motorists to use caution when driving local roads as floodwaters recede, especially in low-lying areas.

Swamp Rd near Jamberoo remains flooded and is closed to traffic, however nearby Browns Lane, Factory Lane and Minnamurra Lane are now open.

Council road crews are patrolling roads to assess any damage caused by heavy rain and flooding.

Wallaby Hill Road has been damaged by a landslip, with a crew on site to allow local residents safe access to their properties.

The Princes Highway at the Kiama/Gerringong bends is open, with northbound traffic restricted to one lane.

Motorists are warned the detour provided by Google Maps via Hoddles Road is wrong.

This is a no through road.

All local beaches and rock pools remain closed due to dangerous conditions and poor water quality.

Council lifeguards have repeated their warning for people to remain clear of beaches and low-lying coastal areas, with these conditions expected to continue over the weekend.

Severe erosion along the NSW coast is expected as a result of the storms and ocean swells.

Council will assess damage to beaches and rock pools once conditions are safe enough to do so.

Residents are encouraged to keep reporting blocked drains by calling (02) 4232 0444 or emailing [email protected].
