Man charged after bottle thrown during NRL match in Belmore

A man has been charged after he allegedly threw a bottle during an NRL match in Sydney’s south-west, NSW Police say.

About 8.20pm on Monday 4 April 2016, officers at a stadium on Edison Lane, Belmore, were alerted by match officials that a glass bottle had been thrown towards the field and smashed on a fence in the seating area.

No one was injured.

An investigation into the incident commenced, and about 10am today, a 39-year-old man was arrested at a home in Rouse Hill.

He was taken to Castle Hill Police Station and subsequently charged with behave in an offensive manner in a public place.

The man was granted conditional bail and will appear in Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 27 April 2016.
