Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man in relation to a fatal crash that occurred in Cardigan last year, Victoria Police say.
The car was allegedly travelling east on Remembrance Way when the incident happened, crashing into a tree on 23 April 2016 about 3pm.
A 4-year-old girl, who was the only passenger, was conveyed to hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
A 25-year-old man was charged today with culpable driving, dangerous driving causing death and other traffic-related offences.
The Beaufort man has been bailed to appear at the Ballarat Magistrates’ Court on 23 January.
