Man charged following investigation into fatal crash in the state's central west, NSW

A man has been charged following investigations into a fatal single-vehicle crash in the state’s central west last year, NSW Police say.

About 12.40pm on Monday 12 September 2016, a 72-year-old man was driving a Toyota Landcruiser north on the Olympic Highway, Koorawatha, with his 71-year-old wife seated in the rear, and an 82-year-old man seated in the front.

The vehicle lost control and left the road before crashing into a tree.

The 82-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was taken to Cowra Hospital before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital where he later died.

yesterday, officers from the Crash Investigation Unit charged the 72-year-old man with dangerous driving causing death, and negligent driving causing death.

He is due to face Young Local Court on Tuesday 4 April 2017.
