Man charged over historical sexual assaults in Beaumaris

Detectives from the Sexual Crimes Squad have charged a man as part of their investigation into reported sexual assaults linked to a male teacher at a Beaumaris primary school dating back to the 1960s and 1970s.

An 82-year-old Queensland man has been charged with 26 counts of indecent assault upon a male.

The charges were served on the man yesterday and he is expected to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 7 July, 2023.

Victoria Police encourages all victims of sexual assault and child abuse, and anyone who has knowledge of such a crime, to make a report.
