Man dies after crash - Tempe

A man has died following a crash in Sydney's Inner West overnight.

About 11.25pm (Friday 6 January 2023), officers from Inner West Police Area Command drove upon a two-vehicle crash on the Princes Highway near Hart Street, Tempe.

Police rendered first aid to the driver of a Mazda 3, before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and continued; however, he died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged 20.

The driver of a Toyota Yaris – a 54-year-old man – was taken to RPA Hospital in a serious but stable condition for treatment and mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established, which was examined by specialist forensic police, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash commenced.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
