Man Dies After Road Rage Assault in South Coast

A man has died in hospital following an alleged assault and road rage incident on the South Coast last month.

About 1.25pm on Tuesday 17 March 2026, emergency services were called to Moona Creek Road, Vincentia, about 7km north of Sanctuary Point, after a report of an alleged road rage incident and assault.

Police were told the occupants of a Toyota Corolla attempted to speak to the female driver of Ford Territory, before she allegedly assaulted a 79-year-old man causing him to fall.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a serious head injury before being airlifted to St George Hospital in a serious condition.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into the incident.

Following inquiries, on Thursday 19 March 2026, police charged a 32-year-old woman who remains before the courts.

Yesterday (Monday 13 April 2026), officers attached to South Coast Police District were notified that the 79-year-old had died in hospital.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Inquiries are continuing.
