The Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced that she will travel to Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain (Bahrain), London, United Kingdom, and Paris, France, from June 10 to 12, 2026.
On June 10, in Manama, Minister Anand will meet with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) partners to discuss developments in the Middle East, including opportunities to support negotiations with a view to achieving durable solutions to ongoing conflicts. She will reaffirm Canada's commitment to a long-term strategic partnership with GCC partners. While in Manama, Minister Anand will also meet with H.E. Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, to strengthen bilateral relations and convey Canada's full solidarity with Bahrain, which has been impacted by the conflicts in the region.
On June 11, in London, Minister Anand will participate in trilateral discussions with Yvette Cooper, the United Kingdom's Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, and Senator Penny Wong, Australia's Minister for Foreign Affairs. The ministers will discuss developments in the Middle East and exchange views on broader regional and global issues, including continued support for Ukraine and the advancement of the rights and empowerment of women and girls. Minister Anand will also advance bilateral priorities with Secretary Cooper ahead of the NATO Leaders' Summit in July.
On June 12, in Paris, Minister Anand will engage with counterparts on advancing the Gaza Peace Plan and broader efforts toward a two-state solution. She will participate in a high-level conference bringing together Israeli and Palestinian civil society leaders alongside international partners.
