New Aged Care Facility for Greater Darwin

NT Government

Aged care services are set to expand in Greater Darwin, with expressions of interest (EOI) now open to build, own, operate or partner in a new 60 bed residential aged care facility.

The EOI is open to organisations from the aged care sector from across Australia, with providers of specialist dementia services encouraged to apply.

The EOI will be open for six weeks, closing on 24 April 2023.

EOI submissions which meet project criteria will be shortlisted and invited to participate in the next phase of the facility development, including clinical and operational planning in partnership with the Northern Territory Government.

To facilitate the project, NT Health made a successful submission to the Commonwealth Government Aged Care Approval Round (ACAR) for 60 residential care places.

The 2021-22 Federal Budget included $396.9 million over five years for capital investment to enable aged care providers to make improvements to their buildings and construct new services.
