New off-road bike skills track open to public

Local young people can now enjoy their free time on a brand-new bike skills track developed in Spring Farm.

Council built the $20,000 track, located off Burrell Road in Spring Farm, after off-road bike enthusiasts put together unapproved tracks across the Camden area.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the track gave riders a safe environment to develop their skills.

"Council is focused on providing residents with facilities and areas to hone their skills," Cr Fedeli said.

"The new Bike Skills Track is perfect for beginners to learn and practice their skills in the natural environment.

"Mountain biking is also an Olympic sport and it would be fantastic to have a local athlete representing Australia in the future coming from this track."

The track, which was built after community consultation with a range of stakeholders earlier this year, is now officially open.
