Nine research projects by the University of Hong Kong (HKU) have secured funding under the National Natural Science Foundation for China and the Research Grants Council (NSFC/RGC) 2023/24 Exercise. Specifically, eight projects were funded by the NSFC/RGC Joint Research Scheme (JRS), and one project was funded by the NSFC/RGC Collaborative Research Scheme (CRS).

The Research Grants Council of Hong Kong (RGC) earlier announced the funding results. The JRS is designed to foster collaboration between researchers and research teams in Hong Kong and the mainland, leveraging the unique strengths of both regions. In contrast, the CRS focuses on promoting larger-scale, interdisciplinary collaborative research involving universities across mainland China and Hong Kong, with the goal of enhancing research output and impact for both areas.
