The Science Prizes are a valuable opportunity for the life sciences community to showcase their outstanding expertise and the value that their work contributes to the Australian economy and to the health of Australians and others worldwide.

The Prime Minister's Prizes for Science include:

  • Prime Minister's Prize for Science ($250,000)
  • Prime Minister's Prize for Innovation ($250,000)
  • Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Scientist of the Year ($50,000)
  • Frank Fenner Prize for Life Scientist of the Year ($50,000)

Together they founded the successful Australian biotech company, pioneering and commercialising diagnostic tests identifying cancer and infection diseases, including bacteria and resistance to antibiotics, thus helping in the global war against antimicrobial resistance.

The Prime Minister's Prizes for Science is part of the Inspiring Australia – Science Engagement Program.

Nominations close 9 February 2023.
