NZ police arrest man after Police officer injured in Northland incident

Northland Police have arrested a male following an incident where a police officer was allegedly assaulted and knocked unconscious in Otaika.

Police were called to an incident at the shops on Otaika Road around 4pm yesterday afternoon to respond to reports of a male acting disorderly outside the shops.

Police arrived and spoke with the man in question.

The man then allegedly assaulted one of the police officers who received a facial injury and was temporarily knocked unconscious.
