OAS Council to Engage with Permanent Observers 10 February

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold an eighth special meeting of the Permanent Council devoted to Permanent Observers accredited at the Hemispheric Organization, under the theme: "The OAS and Permanent Observers: A Strategic Partnership for the Future of the Hemisphere," on Wednesday, February 11 at 09:30 EST (14:30 GMT) in the Hall of the Americas at OAS headquarters in Washington, DC.

The meeting will include the participation of:

• The Chair of the Permanent Council and Permanent Representative of Colombia, Luis Ernesto Vargas;

• The OAS Secretary General, Albert R. Ramdin;

• The Secretary of State for Ibero-America, the Caribbean, and Spanish Worldwide of Spain, Susana Sumelzo;

• The Minister of State for Francophonie and International Partnerships of France (virtual), Eléonore Caroit;

• The Permanent Observer of the Holy See, Monsignor Juan Antonio Cruz;

• The Chargé d'Affaires, Alternate Permanent Observer of the European Union, Ruth Bajada;

• The Permanent Observer of the People's Republic of China, Xie Feng;

• The Chargé d'Affaires, Permanent Observer of Germany, Martin Thümmel;

• The Permanent Observer of Japan, Takehiro Shimada;

• The Permanent Observer of Morocco, Youssef Amrani;

• The Permanent Observer of Portugal, Francisco Duarte Lopes;

• The Permanent Observer of Türkiye, Sedat Önal;

• The Permanent Observer of Ukraine, Olga Stefanishyna;

• The Permanent Observer of Equatorial Guinea, Crisantos Obama Ondo;

• The Alternate Permanent Observer of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Janna van der Velde;

• The Alternate Permanent Observer of Switzerland, Adrian Hauri;

• The Alternate Permanent Observer of Ireland, Fionnuala Quinlan.
