Officer charged - Specialist Command 8 July

A police officer has been charged over alleged misconduct offences.

In March 2020, Strike Force Euradux was established by the Professional Standards Command (PSC) to investigate reports of misconduct.

About 10am yesterday (Tuesday 7 July 2020), three search warrants were executed in Sydney's west.

During the search, officers attached to the PSC Investigations Unit seized a number of items.

A 49-year-old chief inspector, attached to a specialist command, was issued a Court Attendance Notice for the offences of possession of identification information, fraud, and five counts of forgery – making false document.

He is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday 18 August 2020.

The officer currently remains suspended with pay.

Investigations continue.
