Experience, discover, and participate in science!
2 September 2025

On Sunday, 7 September, Forschungszentrum Jülich will open its doors for Open Day once again. From 10:00 to 17:00, guests of all ages can explore the 1.7 square kilometre campus, take a look behind the scenes, and experience cutting-edge research at first hand.
Programme highlights
Visitors can expect a varied programme - from hands-on experiments and lab tours to exciting lectures. This year's programme focuses on three research topics in particular:
- Hydrogen as the energy carrier of tomorrow: How can it be produced in a climate-neutral way and where can it be used?
- The computing power of the future: How do quantum computers and supercomputers work? And what can computer scientists learn from the human brain?
- Climate change and bioeconomy: How can crops be made more resistant to drought? And how is the circular bioeconomy helping us to conserve resources?
Research rally and career opportunities
Younger visitors can discover the natural sciences in a playful way by taking part in a research rally, interactive experiments, and a spectacular science show. Schoolchildren and students will also have the chance to find out about career opportunities in science.
