Optus switches on new tower in Tomahawk

New Optus tower set to boost connectivity for residents and visitors of North-East Tasmanian town

Tomahawk residents will benefit from enhanced mobile coverage as Optus switches on a new tower in the area.

The Optus-owned site, located in the coastal town of Tomahawk, will provide Optus customers with greater communication through the improved density of the mobile network and increased network capacity, as well as bringing Optus 5G capabilities to Tomahawk for the first time.

Alongside its tight-knit community, Tomahawk is home to some of Tasmanias incredible natural scenery, from stretching coastlines to dramatic sand dunes. The new tower will enable visitors and tourists to the area to share their experiences of Tomahawks picturesque landscape through its enhanced connectivity.

Peter West, Optus Territory General Manager for Tasmania, is pleased to be providing the local community with greater mobile competition and choice through Optus network projects.

Were proud to be providing our customers with much-needed access to our network from the new Tomahawk tower. Mr West said.

The new Optus tower in Tomahawk will enable customers in the area to take advantage of our network, where they can benefit from faster download speeds and an enhanced connectivity.
