Out and about with our Administrators

It's been a busy couple of months and it's great to see our community out and about enjoying our public spaces, community events and shopping precincts.

We celebrated the Victorian Seniors Festival, Children's Week, the 21st birthday of the Riverside Community Centre and the official opening of the new and improved playground at Riverside Reserve.

We continue to take every opportunity to connect with our business community and we were so impressed by the innovation and product quality on show at both Mazda and Crusader Caravans recently. These are both large employers in the municipality and seeing these businesses in action gave us a much greater understanding of how we can support our local industries to thrive.

Over the last couple of months our popular Coffee with Council drop-in sessions continued, with sessions at Epping Plaza and Lyndarum Lifestyle Village.

We love being able to chat first-hand with residents about issues that are important to them, such as parks and open space, and road and footpath infrastructure.

We will continue to host sessions at cafes across the municipality, so please come along to a session that suits you - you can find the details at www.whittlesea.vic.gov.au

Our citizenship program is continuing, and we have welcomed 1240 new citizens in the past two months alone. It is such a privilege to be part of people's journey to becoming Australian citizens and we are so thrilled they have chosen the City of Whittlesea as their home.

Our strong advocacy continues, and we have had some excellent results at the state level with funding commitments that will support the delivery of critical infrastructure, such as the indoor and outdoor sports courts at the Regional Aquatic and Sports Centre in Mernda.

We also celebrated the opening of the refurbished Mill Park Stadium.

We hope this re-development leads to an increase in participation in sport locally, particularly among women and girls, and allows for the expansion of grassroots development and pathway programs that will help develop the sporting stars of the future.

We are looking forward to seeing many of you at our Carols celebration on Friday 9 December and we hope you have a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.
