The Territory's school holiday activity program is in full swing with scores of young people and their families joining the fun so far.

More than 400 scheduled activities are still to come between now and the start of the school year.

Indoor activities have been a hit during the monsoonal weather so far, but water activities remain a key feature of the program with temperatures again expected to soar.

Local organisations, community groups and local governments are providing a range of activities across the NT thanks to a $2.18 million annual investment by the Territory Labor Government.

Overseen by the Office of Youth Affairs, the holiday program is aimed at ensuring that young people and their families remain engaged and connected with their communities during the school break.

Activities as varied as sports, arts and crafts, music and dance, cooking, are available, with mentoring and support programs also included.

The majority of activities have been programmed outside of Darwin, and across all regions.

Most activities are free, with full details available online: here.

Quotes from Minister for Youth, Lauren Moss:

"It's great to see young people taking advantage of what is a wide-ranging list of events right across the Territory.

"After the excitement of Christmas, it could be easy to lose interest in what lies ahead, but with activities ranging from skateboarding, to working with wood crafts, there's something to keep everyone on the go.

"There's no reason for anyone to think that there's nothing do, with a comprehensive collection of fun events available before school begins for the new year."
