Pembroke result signals cost of living top issue

Tasmanian Labor

The Government's plan to build a $750 million stadium in Hobart during a cost of living, health and housing crisis has been firmly rejected through the Pembroke election result.

Labor has been talking to Tasmanians about what they want to see from Government. This Government's decisions to increase power prices, water and sewerage bills and impose a new bin tax have been deeply unpopular and are hurting Tasmanian families.

Labor has presented solutions to each of these issues and Tasmanians have seen the government reject them.

Luke Edmunds has been fighting for his community on Clarence Council for four years and is well prepared for Parliament. He is well-known and liked in his community and has a clear focus on getting the basics right. He is a Bellerive dad with a young family and he will be a great addition to our team.

This result is a clear message to the Premier: Instead of building a $750 million stadium in Hobart, he should focus on keeping costs down for Tasmanian families and fixing the health and housing crisis.
