- AusMedtech 2026 will head to Perth, showcasing WA's biomedical talent to a national and international audience
- The prestigious conference is organised by the national industry body, AusBiotech
- WA delegation travelled to AusMedtech 2025 held in Sydney this week
For the first time Perth has been named as the next host of the country's leading medical technology (medtech) conference.
AusMedtech will head west in 2026 with the two-and-a-half-day conference expected to attract hundreds of national and international leaders from the medtech industry.
Western Australia currently has one of the fastest growing biomedical sectors in the country, with key support for growth of the sector provided by the State Government's Future Health Research and Innovation Fund.
Since the fund was established in 2020, approximately $215 million in grants have been awarded to 655 recipients to support health and medical research and innovation in WA.
Over the next four years a further $277 million is available to continue funding more programs and initiatives.
Hosting AusMedtech is an opportunity for WA to showcase a growing and dynamic biomedical sector with planned site tours of strategic infrastructure, and health and medical research and innovation hubs during the conference.
The State Government established its presence during the Sydney AusMedtech 2025 two-day conference with a WA booth to promote investment and collaborative opportunities in WA's medtech industry.
The WA Government was represented by the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI) and the Department of Health, along with a local delegation made up of six biomedical companies and organisations including:
