Perth waterways benefit from Community Rivercare Program grants

  • $200,000 in grants to 11 volunteer-based community groups
  • Round 6 of the Community Rivercare Program grants help a dozen projects
  • Projects will improve the health of the Swan Canning Riverpark

Almost $200,000 will be shared by 11 not-for-profit community groups across a dozen projects to improve the health of the Swan and Canning rivers.

Grants from Round 6 of the Community Rivercare Program will fund revegetation along the foreshore, weed control and habitat improvement for birds.

Eligible organisations could apply for grants between $3,000 and $30,000 for projects running up to three years.

The Community Rivercare Program has funded 76 projects across 39 volunteer-based community groups since 2018. The McGowan Government committed a further $4 million over four years in 2021.
