Plastic Free July in Stonnington

Millions of people will be taking part in the challenge to reduce plastic pollution during Plastic Free July. This initiative reminds us that choosing to refuse single-use plastics (like straws, cutlery, coffee cups and water bottles) equals cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities, and with the Victorian single-use plastics ban just around the corner, there's never been a better time to get involved.

Council is committed to supporting the community prepare for the ban, and to avoid and reduce plastic waste wherever possible. This July, you'll find our Waste Education Officers at a number of pop-up events at our local libraries, to help the community understand different plastics, prepare for the ban, and explore reusable alternatives.

Visit us and get your plastic-free starter kit on one of the following dates:

  • Phoenix Park Library: Tuesday 19 July from 11.00 am – 1.00 pm
  • Toorak/South Yarra Library: Friday 22 July from 11.00 am – 1.00 pm
  • Malvern Library: Thursday 28 July from 12.30 pm – 2.30 pm
