Plateful Perth delights in City of Light

An entire month full of fabulous feasts and festivities has come to a close in the City of Perth, and there's a lot to celebrate.

Plateful Perth, developed by the City, combined the talents and expertise of 46 City-based hospitality businesses to produce an August to remember.

Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said he's proud of Plateful Perth's inaugural year.

"The Plateful Perth program included a series of events, experiences and offers, and I'm pleased to say 80% of tickets to events on the program sold," Mr Zempilas said.

"In fact, six experiences and five events, including Plated: A Sensory Feast, sold out."

The headline event was held at the Art Gallery of Western Australia on Saturday 19 August and featured food created by the State Building's acclaimed executive chef, Kim Brennan, and beverage mastermind Matt Bodycote.

"I was lucky enough to experience the headline event and it really was an incredible feat. The oysters were a particular highlight, along with the steak that came with a very special smoked jus that my tastebuds won't forget for a very long time.

"We have more dining options than anywhere else in our state, and the world-class quality of those options was truly on display during August for everyone so see and experience.

"We can't wait to bring Plateful Perth back in 2024."
