Police charge man after 1,4-Butanediol seizures - Bundoora

An alleged drug trafficker has been charged after Major Drug Squad detectives seized drugs and cash as part of an investigation into illegal trafficking of 1,4-Butanediol.

Police executed warrants at two residential addresses in Bundoora on 26 April, but were unable to locate the alleged offender.

They subsequently seized almost 100kgs of 1,4-Butanediol and a large amount of cash.

Members from Nunawading Highway Patrol arrested the 31-year-old Bundoora man on whereabouts yesterday afternoon, after he was observed using his mobile phone whilst driving.

He has been charged with traffick large commercial quantity drug of dependence and remanded to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 8 September

Police will allege that the man charged was involved in a syndicate of Chinese nationals illegally trafficking large commercial quantities of 1,4-Butanediol.
