Police charge man with 54 offences of sexual nature

Sex Assault Squad (SAS) detectives have charged a 43-year-old man with an additional 54 offences of a sexual nature against women, as a result of their ongoing investigation into his activities.

SAS officers first charged the man relating to this investigation on 22 January 2022. As the investigation continued, another nine victims (aged between 16 and mid 30s) came forward.

It is alleged during 2021 and 2022, the man drugged them into stupefaction before sexually assaulting them. It is believed the victims met the man through an online dating site.

It is further alleged forensic analysis of electronic devices belonging to the man identified numerous videos and images of naked girls aged between 9 and 13 years and are classified as category 1 Child Exploitation Material. Forensic analysis also located videos depicting bestiality.

The 43-year-old man from Ascot and who is currently incarcerated will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 14 March 2022 on the charges of:-

• 33 counts of Sexual Penetration without Consent;

• 10 counts of Unlawful and Indecent Assault;

• 9 counts of Stupefying in Order to Commit and Indictable Offence;

• 1 count of Possessing Child Exploitation Material; and

• 1 count of Possess or Copy an Indecent or Obscene Act.
