Police charge six teens after retail break-ins and stealing spree at Miranda

Six teenagers have been charged after allegedly breaking into 19 stores at a shopping centre in Sydney's south this week.

Just after 9pm on Tuesday (22 June 2021), officers attached to Sutherland Police Area Command attended a shopping centre on the Kingsway, Miranda, following reports a number of stores had been broken into.

CCTV depicted a number of people ransacking the stores, stealing clothing before fleeing.

Following inquiries, officers attached to Nepean Proactive Crime Team arrested six teenagers – aged between 13 and 16 - at Penrith Railway Station about 5pm yesterday (Wednesday 23 June 2021).

The teenagers – three girls and three boys – were taken to Penrith and St Marys Police Stations.

Each was charged with 19 counts of larceny, 19 counts of enter enclosed land and one count of destroy or damage property.

They were all refused bail to appear before Parramatta Children's Court today (Thursday 24 June 2021).
