Police charge two after Melbourne CBD death

Homicide Squad detectives have charged two men today following the death of a man in the Melbourne CBD in March.

A 23-year-old St Albans man and a 22-year-old Roxburgh Park man were arrested on Wednesday morning.

They were interviewed by police and subsequently charged with manslaughter.

The pair faced Melbourne Magistrate's court on Wednesday and were remanded to reappear on 4 October.

The charges follow an incident where emergency services were called to a report of an unresponsive man in a Flinders Street apartment shortly after 10.30am on Saturday, 11 March.

The 22-year-old Kings Park man was treated at the scene but passed away following an assault.

He had been located in the property by a cleaner after it had been used as a short-term rental.

The investigation remains ongoing.
