Police charge woman with armed robberies in West Perth

Detectives from the Rapid Apprehension Squad (RAS) have charged a 27-year-old woman after two armed robberies in West Perth.

It will be alleged, the woman armed with a knife, entered a mini mart located on Hay Street in West Perth on Friday, 28 July 2023. She allegedly demanded money from staff before leaving with a sum of cash.

It will be further alleged, armed with a knife, she entered a service station located on Thomas Street in West Perth on Sunday, 30 July 2023. She allegedly demanded cash from staff, before departing with a sum of cash.

About 10pm last night, Sunday 30 July 2023, the woman was apprehended by RAS detectives and officers from the Tactical Response Group on Hay Street in West Perth after a brief foot pursuit. At the time of her arrest, it will be alleged she was in possession of a small bag of Cannabis.

The 27-year-old woman of no fixed address has been charged with:

• Two counts of Armed Robbery; and

• One count of Possess a Prohibited Drug (Cannabis).

She is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 31 July 2023.
